The Secret
Oh Spirit of my Father – where art Thou?
Thou Glad, Bright, Beautiful Being?
Thou who makes’t the winds to blow,
And the waves to roll, and mountains all trembling?
Thou art in the thunder, and also in the wind
But behold – a greater thing take flight,
When the God of all worlds comes down
To whisper to a child in the night
And the wise pass by on their road to light
Oh, Children – can you see, feel, and hear?
The whispers of your Father’s Heart
Who loves you so, and holds you dear?
Behold – this struggle in the wind tonight
And the war in human heart and mind;
To be a child, trusting in an unseen hand
Or be a man! And follow sight – not blind!
Oh, Children – hark! Listen if you can
The Light shines ever from above –
Comes not in ways we frame or make
His Spirit comes quiet – as a dove
And only the hungry heart may hear,
Or the searching soul may find;
For the richest gifts of the King of kings
Are for His children – hearts after His kind
Hearts He is growing to His own Mind –
What matters then if we must walk blind,
Or we cannot find easy ways to understand
When The Father’s womb is growing Humankind?
And the wise pass by on their road to light
Oh, Children – can you see, feel, and hear?
There are no “secrets” in the whispering wind –
Only “Fear thou Not, for I Am Here”

Just a little flower, turning her face to find the sun. I don’t always feel his rays on me, but when I do, the warmth and the feeling is simply wonderful, and I never want to be in the shadows again. Isn’t he lovely?
