A Morning Prayer

Father, Thou hast made this day –

I know not yet what it shall bring

If Thou go with me all the way,

My soul will lift her voice, and sing

If good may come, I’ll smile,

A grateful heart I’ll lift to Thee

For every good and happy mile,

And sunshine lighting paths for me

If ill must come, lend strength,

O, guide me still throughout the dark

Let my wavering hand find at length,

Thy hand, by which to steer and mark.

In all things, my loving Father,

Let me look and find Thy hand

Neither sun nor rain can bother,

All winds blow well at Thy command.

I’ll walk with Thee on meadows fair,

And also upon rocks and stone

Thou wilt not take me anywhere

Except on paths that lead me home.

Just a little flower, turning her face to find the sun. I don’t always feel his rays on me, but when I do, the warmth and the feeling is simply wonderful, and I never want to be in the shadows again. Isn’t he lovely?
